Farewell Reception for the Ambassador of Chile to Japan
Dr. Ritter Díaz, Representative Director of JAPOLAC, attended the farewell reception hosted by His Excellency Ricardo G. Rojas, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Japan, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in Japan.
The reception was held on June 12, 2026, in Tokyo and brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, business leaders, academics, and friends of Chile and Japan to express their appreciation for Ambassador Rojas’s distinguished service and his significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Chile and Japan.
Representing JAPOLAC, Dr. Díaz conveyed his sincere gratitude for the valuable support and cooperation extended by Ambassador Rojas and the Embassy of Chile to JAPOLAC in advancing educational, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and Chile.
In particular, Dr. Díaz acknowledged the Embassy’s support for the development of academic cooperation between the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) and Chiba University, an initiative coordinated by JAPOLAC. This collaboration has contributed to expanding Japanese university students’ understanding of Chile while strengthening educational ties and fostering closer academic exchanges between the two countries.
Dr. Díaz also expressed his appreciation for the Embassy’s collaboration in promoting Chilean gastronomy in Japan through the tasting of a traditional Chilean culinary specialty at the Kura Sushi Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka. This initiative, coordinated by JAPOLAC, provided Japanese and international visitors with a unique opportunity to experience Chilean cuisine and gain a deeper appreciation of its rich gastronomic heritage.
On behalf of JAPOLAC, Dr. Díaz extended his warmest wishes to Ambassador Rojas for continued success in his future endeavors and expressed deep appreciation for his friendship, leadership, and dedicated service throughout his diplomatic mission in Japan.
