Celebration of the National Day of Paraguay
The Embassy of the Republic of Paraguay in Japan held an official reception on the occasion of the 215th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Paraguay and the 90th anniversary of Japanese migration to Paraguay, highlighting the deep historical bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite Paraguay and Japan.
The event brought together representatives of the Japanese Government, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Japan, business leaders, academics, and representatives of the Paraguayan and Nikkei communities.
During the ceremony, H.E. Mario Toyotoshi, Ambassador of Paraguay to Japan, delivered commemorative remarks highlighting the strong bilateral relations between Paraguay and Japan. The Ambassador underscored the increasing presence of Japanese companies operating in Paraguay, as well as the significant contribution of Japanese immigration to the country’s economic, social, and cultural development.
Representing the Government of Japan, H.E. Minoru Kiuchi, Minister in charge of Economic Security, conveyed his congratulations on this important national occasion and emphasized the longstanding friendship between the two nations, as well as their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
Dr. Ritter Díaz, Representative Director of the Japan Association for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (JAPOLAC), attended the event and extended his warmest congratulations to the Ambassador of Paraguay. Dr. Díaz reaffirmed JAPOLAC’s continued commitment to supporting the activities of the Embassy of Paraguay in Japan.
