6th Cuba–Japan Children’s Festival
On June 20, Dr. Ritter Díaz, Representative Director of the Japan Association for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (JAPOLAC), together with his family, participated in the 6th Cuba–Japan Children’s Festival, organized by the Embassy of Cuba in Japan.
The event brought together more than one hundred participants, including children, parents, and members of the Cuban and Japanese communities, for a day dedicated to cultural exchange, friendship, and family participation. Despite the rainy weather, the festival took place in a warm and festive atmosphere, featuring games, music, films, chess, piñatas, and a variety of recreational and educational activities designed to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Cuba and Japan.
A highlight of the celebration was the awards ceremony for the Cuba–Japan Children’s Drawing Contest, where young participants were recognized for artwork that reflected the values of friendship, peace, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Dr. Díaz expressed his sincere appreciation to H.E. Gisela García, Ambassador of Cuba to Japan, for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in an event that promotes cultural exchange among children and families. He emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding from an early age through educational and cultural activities, noting that initiatives of this nature help build lasting friendships and strengthen people-to-people ties between Japan and Latin America and the Caribbean.
JAPOLAC commends the Embassy of Cuba in Japan for organizing this event in collaboration with the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the Japan Chess Federation, and members of the Cuban community in Japan, whose support and dedication contributed significantly to the success of the festival.
